PBGB observes 16th Foundation Day
Paschim Banga Gramin Bank (PBGB) observed February 26 as 16th Foundation Day. It was celebrated at the Head office at Natabar Paul Road, Chatterjee Para More, Howrah, bank sources informed.
We will observe this day as "Business Development day and NPA Recovery Day." A road show with around 50 top officials of the Bank including the Chairman & General Managers, will take place for displaying our products and creating mass awareness.
All branches will hold a meeting with customers and well wishers, said Chairman P.P.Sen.
Paschim Banga Gramin Bank had been established on 26th of February, 2007 by amalgamation of Howrah Gramin Bank, Bardhaman Gramin Bank & Mayurakshi Gramin Bank sponsored by the UCO Bank in the state of West Bengal. This new entity remains as a joint venture of the Government of India, Government of West Bengal and UCO Bank with contribution of share capital of 50%,15% and 35% respectively, sources said.
The prime aim of the bank remains undiluted, as to act as a catalyst to develop the rural economy through credit dispensation for productive activities mainly to agrarian populace. With the higher exposure limit, the Bank is now enabled to the cater to the needs of emerging enterprises mainly in the field of agriculture & MSME sectors, sources said.
We are dispensing credit facilities and implementing Government's social welfare and financing schemes through our 230 branches spread across five districts of West Bengal Viz, Howrah, Hooghly, Birbhum, Purba & Paschim Bardhaman.
Bank has received an award from the Ministry of Rural Development, GOI as 'best performer' in Eastern India along with Odisha Gramya Bank for SHG finance. PBGB is making significant contributions in fields like SHG financing and Student Credit Cards. One of our Student Credit Card members Monalisa Khatun received Student Credit Card from Honb'le Chief Minister at a Grand Programme at Netaji Indoor Stadium on 24th February, 2022. Paschim Banga Gramin has also wide range of products including Housing loan, Car loan, Business loan etc, Mr.Sen added.

NABARD awarded PBGB for outstanding performance in SHG/JLG
We are pleased to inform that we have awarded for outstanding performance in SHG/JLG by NABARD on NABARD's foundation day on 12 July 2014 in Gyan Manch, 11-Pretoria Street, Kolkata.
As part of the celebrations they felicitating our bank and branches as a recognition of our efforts for promotion of Farmers’ Clubs/ Self Help Groups / Joint Liability Groups during the years 2012-13 and 2013-14.
